VAST Audio specialises in the recording, encoding, transmission and playback of 3D Audio. We have a unique blend of capabilities in neuroscience, electrical engineering, digital and analogue chip design and the commercial experience to bring ideas into reality. The team is a mixture of seasoned commercial professionals and world leading academics. VAST Audio spun out of the University of Sydney and is the sole beneficial owner of all its Intellectual Property assets. We offer a range of products and services in the 3D audio arena.
The Company will develop and licence technology to partners and share the risk of development. Our licensing strategy has developed so as to ensure our revenue streams will be derived from multiple channels and players in a variety of industries. VAST Audio’s patented IP position provides for a long term sustainable advantage for supplying these advanced technologies. VAST Audio is driven by a sophisticated research activity that ensures the ongoing maintenance and future development of its dominant IP portfolio.

We can provide integration and project management services across a wide range of technical and business development projects. In general our services are directed towards integrating our licensed technology into partner products.
At present we have active projects in
- The development of a spatial hearing aid algorithm for the Hearing Aid industry.
- The development of a 3D audio codec for VOiP clients.
- The provision of individualised Head Related Transfer Functions (HRTFS) on a commercial scale.
- The development of a Transparent Headphone that allows for the presentation of virtual auditory displays in the real world environment.

Collectively, the VAST Audio management team has decades of experience and know-how in bringing high-tech ideas from concept to market. The CEO, has a substantial track record in taking ideas to commercial success in the development of innovative products in the computer gaming industry and more recently in the development and trade sale of an internet development and services business. The founders have extensive experience in establishing successful start-up companies, with 5 companies venture capital backed in the convergent space of high technology and biomedical applications.
The VAST Audio technical group is comprised of internationally recognised researchers with a deep understanding of the neuroscience and the bioacoustics of hearing coupled with the abilities to translate this into practical products. Four of the founders of the Company are principal members of the research team that have produced IP upon which VAST Audio’s range of products are based.
